Recipes to Spruce up Your Summer BBQ

Memorial Day Weekend plans? Upgrade your BYOS/M (snacks/meals) with these recipes.

I feel like MDW is the official starting point of summer, even though it's a few weeks before the real deal. Pools start opening up, kids get out of school, and the weather is just *chefs kiss* perfectly heating up.

When I lived in Nebraska (aka 25 years of my life), MDW generally consisted of your classic burgers, brats/hot dogs, potato chips, coleslaw, baked beans, and salad. Don't get me wrong, it's delish, but we could upgrade a couple things to make them a bit more exciting and noteworthy.

1. Watermelon Salad

A little watermelon, cucumber, avocado, mint, and feta? Sounds so refreshing!

2. Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

I'm salivating just looking at this recipe. Chicken, pineapple, onions, and peppers. Say no more.

3. Fruit Pizza

Nothing like a beautifully decorated cookie with your favorite fruit to top it off. The combination of strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and kiwi is my go-to.

4. Garlic Shrimp Skewers

I'm down for garlic anything and everything, so maybe I'm a bit bias. You just can't go wrong with garlic, lemon, and parsley combo!

Well, now that I'm officially hungry, let me know if you end up giving any of these a go!
